Long-distance move from Glendale, AZ to Arlington, TX

Poor service

They use a 3rd party to move your things, delivery is not communicated properly and this could take up to 30 days. Stated when contacted by the 3rd party agency. Use van lines at your own risk.belive the 1 star reviews they speak volume

Official company response

We have reviewed all the recorded calls between you and our office. We also received all the paperwork the carrier filed, listing all the items to be moved. In review, we sent the first carrier out to you, and he saw that you had additional cubic feet than was listed on the Binding Moving Estimate. You called our office to complain about all this, and in turn, we sent another carrier out to pick up your inventory. Again, the new carrier noticed you had approximately 50 cubic feet more. You did have three chances to update your inventory before a carrier arrived. You were emailed your complete inventory for your review on the day you signed the moving contract. You did not make any changes. When our Quality Assurance department called to review your inventory one last time before the carrier arrived, they reviewed every item you had listed. At that time, you added 20 additional cubic feet. The additional 20 cubic feet did not include the ottoman. When the carrier arrived, you knew you had extra pieces - 1 ottoman, two pictures, and one extra plant. This is what added the 50 cubic feet. Ms. Tillman, if you had been honest about the size of your inventory from the start, all of this could have been avoided. So many people think they can add a few items here and there when the carrier arrives, and they won't be charged for them. The carrier must charge for every cubic foot the inventory takes up on the truck. You signed the pickup paperwork acknowledging the additional cubic feet.

Long-distance move from Stroudsburg, PA to Bolivia, NC

Worst moving experience of my life

Worst moving experience of my life. If I could give Lojik Van Lines a negative rating, I would in an instant. This was by far the worst moving experience of my life. I was originally quoted approximately $2800 to move my items. The Saturday before the move, I was contacted by the broker who informed me there would be an additional charge of $1000 to cover bulk fees for 2 arcade games. When the movers arrived, they charged me an additional $1039.00 for the same arcade games, stating they could not stack anything on top of the games and I needed to pay for the "wasted space". In the end that overall costs was over $5000.00. However, it doesn't end there. The movers left my house in PA on 12/6/23 and told me it would be 3-7 days before delivery in **. I called the main office on 12/8/23 and informed them I had to go out of town on a business trip to TX, so my items could not be delivered until 12/15/23, in which I was told "it was not an issue and they would alert their dispatch office". I called again on 12/11/23 from the airport just to ensure they were aware of my business trip and was once again told "it was not an issue and they would alert their dispatch office". At 1:40PM on 12/12/23, I was called by the driver and was informed they were delivering my items in NC the morning of 12/13/23 between 7am-9am, I told the driver I was out of town on business and that I had called their office twice to inform them. He told me the only thing I could do was to pay a re-delivery fee or have them get storage unit that I would in turn pay for. Their dispatch called me and the lady who's name I will not put in this review was EXTREMELY rude. I then called 8 different people at their company and was told the same thing. I ended up having to book a red eye flight from TX to NC for 12/12/23, in order to be there the morning of 12/13/23 to receive my items. Only to find they stacked items on top of the arcade games they charged me $2000 to NOT stack on top of.

Long-distance move from Hackensack, NJ to Miami, FL

Amazing experience

I don't normally leave reviews, but this experience was top notch. I've moved 6 times in the past 10 years, so I've had a lot of experience with different movers in different states. Van Lines INC was by far the best! I think this is the first time that none of my furniture got dinged in a move. The team they sent is worked well together and arrived on time. They were super careful and they even fixed an issue on my bed frame.

My only regret is that I didn't call them earlier. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family!!

Long-distance move from Sandy, UT to Pekin, IL

Please don't use Vanlines Inc!

I am writing this review because I don’t want you to get robbed by Vanlines Inc (Fort Lauderdale) as we were. Moving Consultant [NAME EDIT] said all the right things during our initial phone conversation. They did not wish to come physically to our storage facility, look at our belongings, and give us a price. We told them over the phone what we had and he said it would cost $6,900 and they would have a crew out to load up our belongings the next day (Jan. 5.) if I would docu-sign a contract immediately. [NAME EDIT] kept saying over and over again, “I will be your contact person every step of the way.” I signed immediately. They did not come out on Jan. 5 as promised. They showed up two days later. In the interim, [NAME EDIT] was unreachable. In fact, [NAME EDIT] was unreachable during the entire moving process! They loaded up the stuff and headed from Sandy, UT to Pekin, IL. While en route we were told the total was going to be $15,000. Over twice as much as what we were quoted! I was not concerned, reasoning that I would just pay what we agreed on when they arrived. When they arrived at their destination, they presented us with a bill for over $17,000! They said they needed payment in cash before they could unload. We phoned [NAME EDIT], the one who promised he’d be with us “every step of the way.” I stated the problem and he promptly passed me on to billing. With me every step of the way, right!! Billing gave an unsatisfactory answer about the outrageous charges. We turned to the movers (not Vanlines Inc. employees but contract labor) fine Cuban gentlemen who, in the meantime, had characterized their employers, Vanlines Inc, as ladrones. That’s Spanish for thieves! They could not help us, insisting that if we didn’t pay, and pay in cash, Vanlines Inc. would not pay them for their work. What was the right thing to do? Cash! Who has that much cash! And, quoting from an earlier email from Joshua Abernathy, “You MAY use your credit card for remaining balance at pick up.” But our belongings were held hostage by Vanlines Inc. and their contract employees until we came up with the cash. Yes, we were blackmailed! We arranged for a bank wire to Vanlines Inc. and they moved our belongings into the garage the next day. Not into the house but into the garage.

I have read similar reviews about Vanlines Inc (Fort Lauderdale) on the web, but none so outrageous, so criminal as reflecting how we were treated.

Let the buyer beware! We failed to take that advice, but if at least one person reads this review and takes my advice, it will have been well worth the time it took to write it.

I will gladly withdraw this review, if Vanlines Inc will pay me the $10,000+ they owe me.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $17000

Official company response

We are very concerned that your move did not go as planned. I have reviewed your recorded call, where you gave us a list of all the inventory you planned to move. Your estimate was based on the inventory list you provided.
All your inventory was at a storage facility. We understand that you were not physically at the facility while producing your inventory list. It is easy to forget what is in storage. When the carrier arrived to pick up your inventory, what started as 800 cubic feet jumped to an additional 1400 cubic feet. This caused the cost of your move to increase.
I have gone over the entire list of inventories the carrier listed as he went through your storage. Initially, you were charged for 130 items – this increased to 300 items. Eight hundred cubic feet grew to 2200 cubic feet. The 100 boxes became 146 boxes, and five small pictures became 24 pictures. You did not have any plastic bins in your original inventory list. The carrier listed 17 bins. Add to all that three bikes, two dressers, a sectional, a snow shovel, a giant ladder, metal tubes, backpacks (one with a tent), extra chairs, and several other items, and you can see why your move went up substantially. The carrier did give you a $1,000.00 "manager discount." They didn't charge you for the additional packing. If you would like a copy of the carrier's bill of lading, I can email that to you along with your original inventory list.
We are sorry for all the confusion with the additional inventory. Unfortunately, we must charge according to your inventory's cubic feet.

Long-distance move from Nevada to Kansas

Unprofessional stay away

Hired Van lines inc out of fort Lauderdale Florida to move me from Las Vegas to Kansas. When they arrived it was another company they hired in U-Hauls. They told me it should be delivered on the 8th, so on the 7th I called to find out my stuff is still in Vegas and not even touched. They gave me a new day and then called back days later and said the, yes they one driver and he had an emergency and it would be even later. Approximately 10 days later they show up in a U-Haul pulling a U-Haul trailer with one driver and someone they hired off of Craigslist. This company is so unprofessional. They lost my speakers and so far they're willing to do nothing for me. I called their customer service and she said they would request the paperwork and get back to me 10 days later I called back and nothing was done. Get this, their insurance that they give you is useless. If you have $1,000 receiver and it weighs 10 lb they will give you $6, yes the cost of a hamburger you heard it right. Please run from this company you will not be happy so unprofessional. When they showed up to deliver my stuff they had to unload the entire truck to get to my stuff off, totally backwards, totally unprofessional, totally ridiculous stay away from this company they hire other people to do it and even higher people they don't even know off of Craigslist no wonder my stuff was damaged and stolen. Please I don't want this to happen to anybody else stay away from this company try anybody else but this company.

Official company response

We have contacted the carrier to inquire about hiring help from Craig’s List and are awaiting a response. However, I do know that carriers regularly rent U-Haul trucks if their trucks are down or over-booked.
You were picked up on May 28, and on May 31, you spoke with our office regarding the pickup process. You stated that you were satisfied with the pickup. For the distance of your move, the delivery window would be between June 1 and 24. You were delivered well within that window. I don’t know who told you the delivery would be on June 8.
We have requested the carrier send you the claims process regarding your speakers. Please let us know if they do not follow through on this.

Long-distance move from Nipomo, CA to Tucson, AZ

Worst Move and this was my 6th.

I contracted with Van Lines to move from CA to AZ. Van Lines used a vendor, A New Start Movers, from Las Vegas to move my furnishings. Several pieces of furniture were damaged in the move. New Start Movers would not respond to emails or phone calls so Van Lines provided an insurance contact for a New Start Movers. However, A New Start did not have a valid policy with this insurance company, so again back to Van Lines who provided another insurance contact. This insurance company rejected my claim due to conditions of the policy and would not explain why since I was not the policy holder. So, I sent the insurance letter to Van Lines and called them. I was told their lawyers would review and still have not head back. I started the process of claims in Dec. Cost of the move was $15,000. My advice is to vet your movers and don't accept sub-contractors unless you approve.

Official company response

We are sorry you are getting no action from New Start Movers. At the time of your move, New Start Movers was a reputable company with all their paperwork in order, including their insurance documents. They have worked well with us for several years. Their documents were recently updated. I have emailed you the Interstate Broker-Carrier Hauling Agreement_.001 New Start Movers signed, along with their personal guaranty. This paperwork shows the person directly responsible for New Start Movers. They are no longer responding to our phone calls and emails. We hope this new information will help.

Long-distance move from Overton, TX to Kennesaw, GA

Intentional under bit on cubic feet

After going room to room for the bid. It came back and I signed after 5 on Friday. Over the weekend I was able to print it out and noticed that multiple large furniture items were left off and he quoted standard size totes when I specifically told him I have very large totes. In total the estimate was off by almost 2K. I told Jamie I was not comfortable moving forward and that even after that he still had my Tvs as under 60" when I clearly told him 82". Told me I could not cancel and that I was outside of the refund window and was extremely rude about it. I advised him that Friday evening to Monday AM is NOT greater than 72hrs. They are trying to force me to continue to use there service and pay for the overage!. I have not even moved yet!!

Great Move

Van Lines Inc. really earned their name! I would recommend these guys to anyone who's looking to move, especially if you have specialty items or have a challenging move. The company was responsive and timely.

I was particularly impressed with the professionalism, courtesy, and thoughtfulness of the actual movers. all the crew introduced themselves when they arrived, worked diligently, and displayed the kind of professionalism you simply wouldn't expect from typical movers.

Thank you guys for great experience!!
